Lori Wainright

 Lori J. Wainright, MS, LCMHC

Lori is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with more than 20 years of professional experience working with individuals, couples and families navigating change, whether planned or unexpected. She believes that collaborating with a therapeutic professional can help clients find healing solutions to issues and events that cause emotional turmoil. Lori is a goal-oriented, client-focused, trauma-informed practitioner that promotes optimal mental health and transformation for clients. She uses a variety of approaches including Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Gottman Relationship Method, meditation and mindfulness. As a mediator, she has worked with thousands of North Carolina families to settle difficult custody issues and led many professional trainings on conflict and effective communications/ listening for difficult conversations. Lori is an Enneagram personality model coach and certified yoga instructor.

Lori arrived in the Port City 10 years ago to serve as the Family Court mediator for New Hanover and Pender counties and is an active member of the community. She is a founding member of the New Hanover Resiliency Taskforce, which is raising awareness of trauma prevention to improve the overall health and wellbeing of citizens. She also serves on the North Carolina Family Court Advisory Commission and is a Board member for WHQR public radio.
