Personal transformation begins with self-care and turning toward our inner-self. Our deep connection to our self is the most important relationship we will ever establish, and it is the foundation for all other relationships in our lives. Yoga, breathing, massage and movement therapies can guide us along this process. By reducing anxiety, increasing energy, and establishing ourselves in good health, we prepare ourselves for the natural ups and downs of life. Yoga and massage balance the body’s internal systems, promote healthy eating choices naturally, calm the mind and body and keep it trim and fit. Yoga is an excellent adjunct therapy for addictions, depression, anxiety , low-back pain and many other common issues we face. The mind is not an island which can be healed separately from the body.

I began practicing yoga in 1998. I trained with many teachers at Kripalu Yoga (the largest residential yoga center in the U.S.) and eventually graduated from their assistantship program. I studied Thai Yoga Massage with the Lotus Palm School and Kam Thye Chow (author of “Thai Yoga Massage” and school founder). I have practiced and studied many of the various forms of yoga with some of the country’s most respected teachers, both in workshops and long-term trainings. I completed a 500hr Yoga Teacher Training with the American Viniyoga Institute and Gary Kraftsow (author of “Yoga for Wellness” and “Yoga for Transformation.”) Gary Kraftsow is on the board of the Yoga Alliance, works closely with the National Institute of Health and is invited as a keynote speaker to all major yoga conventions in the U.S. He is highly respected as an expert on therapeutic yoga and yogic texts and scholarship. I bring my knowledge of anatomy and movement to the massage table, as a licensed massage therapist practicing since 2005. I will graduate from UNC-W in 2010 with a BA in Psychology. My philosophy is simple: Love is what’s left when we let go of everything else.
