Alison works with clients and families to help manage symptoms of depression, anxiety, other mood disorders, ADHD, disruptive behavior disorders and trauma reactivity. She works with those struggling with emotional and behavioral difficulties using a variety of treatment modalities. Alison also works with children and adolescents transitioning to new foster or adoptive homes by facilitating attachment and helping them to successfully transition into their new family setting.
Alison has a special interest in working with those who are recovering from past trauma. She has received specialized training to utilize a Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral (TF-CBT) approach to address symptoms related to trauma. TF-CBT is an evidence-based treatment approach shown to help children, adolescents, and their caretakers overcome trauma-related difficulties. It is designed to reduce negative emotional and behavioral responses following child sexual abuse and other traumatic events.
